We are looking for two Senior Software Engineers that will contribute to the PhenomUK-RI: The UK Plant & Crop Phenotyping Infrastructure within the Institute for Digital Communications at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by UKRI/BBSRC in collaboration with colleagues at The University of Nottingham and other University partners across the UK.

The successful candidates will be working together to develop a computing software infrastructure to facilitate data ingestion, storage, and analysis aimed at users from across the UK.

The appointees will be responsible one for (a) developing the backend functionality of a digital research infrastructure and the other (b) will contribute to delivering a proof-of-concept of a database. We envision close collaboration between the appointees. In addition, the appointees will be working together with a postdoctoral research associate to also incorporate data analysis tools as part of this proof of concept. The activity is aimed at plant biologists as end users.
